SUMMARY: This fragment is an (Orphic) quotation from The Interpretation of Homer’s Iliad by Tzetzes.
After Orphic fragment 193 (See verse in Orphic fragment 257; where we find the words of Tzetzes introducing the sentences of Orpheus):
καὶ τό·
“And the (verse):
‘And thronging hives of bees were working [1].’ ”
(trans. by the author)
Translator’s note: ἐργάζοιο seems to make no sense, being in the second person singular; I translated this using Mullach’s ἐργάζοντο.
Herm. 511 n. 33; Christian Lobeck Aglaophamus I 423.
