SUMMARY: This fragment is another excerpt from the Dodekaeteris.
Excerpt from the Δωδεκαετηρίς V (compare to Orphic Fragment 251):
“When Jupiter crosses through Sagittarius, [and the year, the very one ruling] it is warlike from the beginning; and in the days of harvest all the chariots will fall; and pestilence subjugates the fruit of prosperity.”
(trans. by the author)
Josef Heeg 28 fr. 10.
Compare to Palchi Περὶ τῶν ιβʹ ζωιδίων καὶ τῶν δ’ καιρῶν “About the 12 signs of the zodiac and the seasons” quoted in Franz Boll Catalogus codicum astrologorum Graecorum V 1, 177, 24:
“But this year (sc. of Sagittarius) is neither suited to planting nor to cultivation; and in it, the springs will fail.”
