SUMMARY: This fragment consists of a string of what are described as violations by Gods, using a literal translation of the mythology. It must be stated that even seeing these stories in such a way, it appears that the author does not know his mythology, i.e. the story of Apóllôn (Ἀπόλλων) violating Ártæmis (Ἄρτεμις).

153. (308) Martyrium Theodoti Ancyrani et septem cum eo virginum Acta Sanctorum S. S. 18 Maii c. 24 d. e (IV p. 160 Boll.)

Ὀφεὺς γὰρ ὁ ὑμέτερος ποιητὴς λέγει, ὅτι Ζεὺς τὸν Κρόνον τὸν ἴδιον πατέρα ἐφόνευσε καὶ ἔσχε τὴν ἰδίαν μητέρα τὴν Ῥέαν, καὶ ἐξ αὐτῶν γεννᾶται ἡ Περσεφόνη, ἣν καὶ αὐτὴν ἐμίανεν· ἔσχε δὲ καὶ τὴν ἰδίαν ἀδελφὴν Ἥραν γυναῖκα. καὶ Ἀπόλλων δὲ τὴν ἰδίαν ἀδελφὲν ἔσχεν Ἄρτεμιν, ἣν καὶ ἐμίανεν ἐν Δήλωι παρὰ τῶι βωμῶι. Καὶ ὁ Ἄρης δὲ τὴν Ἀφροδίτην. καὶ ὁ Ἥφαιστος τὴν Ἀθηνᾶν·

"The poet Orphéfs (Ὀφεὺς) says that Zefs (Ζεύς) bloodied his own father Krónos (Κρόνος), whose wife was his mother Rǽa (Ῥέα), by whom he begot his daughter Pærsæphónî (Περσεφόνη), who he also dishonored; then also he took to wife Íra (Ἥρᾱ), his own sister. And likewise Apóllôn (Ἀπόλλων) possessed his own sister Ártæmis (Ἄρτεμις), and violated her beside the altar at Dílos (Δήλος). And then Árîs (Ἄρης) with Aphrodítî (Ἀφροδίτη). And Íphaistos (Ἥφαιστος) with Athîná (Ἀθηνᾶ)." (trans. by the author)

The logo to the left is the principal symbol of this website. It is called the CESS logo, i.e. the Children of the Earth and the Starry Sky. The Pætilía (Petelia, Πετηλία) and other golden tablets having this phrase are the inspiration for the symbol. The image represents this idea: Earth (divisible substance) and the Sky (continuous substance) are the two kozmogonic substances. The twelve stars represent the Natural Laws, the dominions of the Olympian Gods. In front of these symbols is the seven-stringed kithára (cithara, κιθάρα), the the lyre of Apóllôn (Apollo, Ἀπόλλων). It (here) represents the bond between Gods and mortals and is representative that we are the children of Orphéfs (Orpheus, Ὀρφεύς).
